Interior Design // November 2019

This project has been a work in progress for the last 5 years. With furniture being added yearly.

The client brief has always been to come up with something to suite the house architecture and lifestyle of the occupant.

unique problems

The latest project was to design a piece that could be used as both a bar, a console/server and an informal place to sit while sipping wine on the patio or having a braai .

The stark console was repurposed to include drawers for storage alsong with woven baxter barstools. A wine rack unit as Omusha dining table added with fully upholstered Imbiza chairs  for the dining area.

woods used and finishes

Blackwood was used on the patio area to add colour and warmth to the otherwise stark white area. The internal furniture – Natural oak was the choice to contrast with the dark wooden flooring. Oak also gives off a nice aroma and suites the wine/dining them very well.

External – Oiled to reduce maintenance and bring out the warm colours.

Internal – water based Rystix to keep the oak looking natural and raw.

Brightly coloured roping was used externally to once again add a pop of vibrant colour. Upholstery internally the customer opted with neutral tones and a splash of game print to add that Africa feel.
